Dr Patrick Kelly FRACP is a Paediatrician, Honorary Associate Professor in Paediatrics at the University of Auckland and Clinical Director of the Starship Child Protection Team (Te Puaruruhau). This is based in Puawaitahi, New Zealand's first multi-agency child advocacy centre.
For many years, Dr Kelly chaired the Child Protection Special Interest Group of the Paediatric Society. He was a founding member of the Child and Youth Mortality Review Committee and the Family Violence Death Review Committee, and was Clinical Leader for a National Managed Clinical Network in Child Protection.
He has a longstanding research interest in abusive head trauma.
